Eric and I have a passion for travel, in fact we got engaged on our trip last year to Italy! We knew right away we wanted to have a destination wedding so we could share our love for travel with family and friends. Portugal was a no brainer for us and a very special place for me since I used to spend my summers there as a child visiting my grandparents. We settled on Guimaraes, a charming medieval town in the Minho region of Northern Portugal. We visited together a few years back and instantly fell in love with its old world charm. With its narrow cobblestone streets, olive tree groves, and not just one but TWO castles perched atop a hill, it seemed perfect for the fairytale wedding of our dreams.
All of our wedding vendors were so amazingly talented with such great attention to detail. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day and enchanting night spent dancing in such a regal space under the stars.
